Does anyone have a good pattern mosaic pattern for someone who’s never followed charts/ done mosaic before? I’ve been stuck on more basic patterns for years and I want to branch out into new techniques!

So I finished my first cardigan (!!) and decided to put it into the washing machine on the delicate setting (cold water and low spin speed) since I needed to wash some other sweaters (store bought) as well.
It had already been longer than it was supposed to be (my fault, I didn't allow for natural stretch when I was measuring the pieces so I did more rows than I needed to). I didn't think it would be a problem if I put it in the washing machine because it was on the delicate setting and I used acrylic yarn, but it ended up being stretched out lengthwise about 2 or 3 inches and the sleeves were stretched out as well. The ribbing on the bottom was also pulled out of shape, but I was sort of able to fix it. Now it's even longer on me, and the project feels thinner as well (I would assume that it's because it was stretched out).
I tried to re-soak it and reshape it, but that didn't work. The length is kind of alright since it just looks like a long cardigan, but I'm gutted that I ruined something that I worked really hard on.
With all this in mind, I have a few questions:
Thanks!

I would love to know your creation processes, how long it takes to create, what inspires you, where you find your ideas. Sometimes I can't find the patterns I am looking for and I would like to create my own. Thanks!
