My grandma asked me to make a warm, washable, coat for her senior collie, who is not handling the winter cold well since he lost a ton of weight due to a tumor on his gums preventing him from eating. Any suggestions on yarn type (for warmth and washability), stitches that work up quickly while remaining warm, or patterns I could start with and personalize to this dog will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance, it is heart breaking watching him shake with cold in the snow when he previously has always loved playing in the snow.
(He has had the tumor removed and is slowly starting to regain weight)
