Beginner question - wondering about how much yarn I’ll need for a blanket project? Boyfriend is approx 6ft tall.

So I am following a double crochet pattern and there is no specific number of chains at the beginning of blanket. But I’m making this blanket for my boyfriend who is 6’3 so I want it to be big enough. How do I figure out how much yarn I will need? I am planning to use Bernat Blanket yarn. From your experience how many yards will usually be big enough for a blanket like that?
