A righty teaching a lefty

Hi all! First time poster here so please be kind!
I am a right handed crocheter and am trying to teach my left handed son but we are having some issues with how to hold the hook and tension. I have tried to sit across from him and have him copy me. I’ve tried showing him how to do it right handed. I’ve even tried doing it left handed myself and correcting minor things I notice. My question is does anyone have any advice on how to teach him? Maybe some tips and tricks for a lefty learner or even some for me to be a better teacher? Thanks in advance!
