What is a transverse loop and how do I continue?

So I'm an absolute crocheting beginner and my first project is this minecraft sheep, that I wanna give someone as a present. The pattern says I should crochet 30 SC into transverse loops (on the two sides of the rectangle I guess), but I have no idea what that means. I saw two other posts about it, sadly without an update. I bought the pattern, so cannot post it. I hope someone can explain it to me in a foolproof way. :)
