what crochet stitch is best to use when making a bucket hat?

i seen people use sc, hdc, and dc (so far) and i seen a youtube video where sc takes up the most yarns (so maybe i won't use that but if it looks better than dc.. then sure.. i might.) but i don't really like the look of dc stitches in bucket hats??? what about you guys? what do you think is best? in terms of look and the stitch that saves up the yarn
