Shade/color combo recommendations for wedding gift blanket

I have two good friends who are getting married to eachother and I would like to make them a nice blanket as part of their gift. I want it to include their favorite colors with a third neutral(?) color like white, black, tan, grey, etc as well. The thing is, their favorite colors are purple and green. Plain purple and green is very... Barney the Dinosaur-ish? So I wanted to ask for recommendations of shades of purple and green that would go together (lavender, seafoam, forest green, aubergine, etc) with a third color to break it up a bit, if this makes sense. I'm thinking of doing either large granny square with alternating layers, or a simple stripe. The pattern won't be anything crazy, I just have no idea what shades of these colors would go together, if any haha. I appreciate any suggestions!
