Feeling really disheartened about the crochet commission market

Hi all, who else does commissions here, and do you guys feel like crochet is just wayyy too under-appreciated? Just completed a commissioned piece, and I can’t help feeling really shitty about it because I felt the enthusiasm from the buyer just drop after the end product was shown (buyer was really excited up until then, including when I showed the progress pictures). When asked, my fellow crochet friends thought my work deserves a 8-9 points out of 10, given the considerations put into the piece, the effort, the design, the small details (I made all limbs jointed and hence possible, ended each round instead of crocheting in a spiral for a cleaner finished look etc). These details, while not obvious to the untrained eye, takes up a ton more time and effort, and bumped the total project hours up significantly. The same friends gave a score of 6-7 when asked to put themselves in the shoes of a buyer with no knowledge about crochet, because the finished product just looked “meh”. Don’t blame the buyer as I understand all they had to go off on was the finished look, and they don’t recognise the complexity in designing etc. But dang it sucks
