Crocheting sc over crocodile stitch?
IFTTT newest submissions : crochetHello all!
I've made a handful of crochet projects and done some amigurumi, but still very much consider myself a novice. I've learned from video tutorials and from my own trial and error.
Recently, I learned how to do a crocodile stitch, using this fantastic video by B.Hooked Crochet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BRKEfpIYmk&ab_channel=B.HookedCrochet%26Knitting
I made a few swatches and feel confident in the stitch. I started making a blanket for my niece with the intention to do a few rows of "normal" stitches in sc (my plan was 6 rows sc between each section of crocodile stitch) and then a few rows in crocodile stitch. So the final product would be a striped blanket, where some of the stripes are crocodile scales.
My base chain was 204 stitches (divisible by 6). I crocheted 6 rows sc, and have now moved onto my crocodile stitch. So far I've done 3 rows of scales (so 6 rows in total, 3 "base" rows of dc and 3 scale rows).
How would I move from my last row of scales to doing a row of sc or dc? My biggest concern I think is the count, since there are chains between my sets of 2dc and I'm worried that if I adjust my stitches do go back to the 204 I started with something might be.... off.
I hope this question makes sense!! Thank you in advance for your help.
