Crocheting with coned chenille yarn? Have you done it?

Crocheting with coned chenille yarn? Have you done it?

Hi everyone, So I'm working on my Christmas projects and need another 4800+ yards to make a few more wraps. I don't use any animal fibers but want something soft without dealing with a lot of pilling, since these are gifts. I found some awesome high yardage chenille on cones on eBay that's rated at 1500 ypp.Making it a light worsted weighted yarn. They're either acrylic or cotton chenille. The yarn was originally made by factories that serviced the upholstery and home decor industry, including blankets, with some apparel mixed in. Looking at the strands closeup they look like any other worsted chenille for crochet or knitting. I need so much yarn to finish that buying skeins is becoming too expensive. Most good ones only have 150 to 200 yards a skein and it adds up fast! I've already spent so much its crazy. Plus, I want to make a king sized bedspread for our bed as well. That's another truck load of yards that I'd need. And soft chenille sounds wonderful. 😁

I'm curious if anyone has purchased this type of yarn to crochet or even knit? If so how'd it go? Any photos of your completed projects?

PS I do know that rayon chenille is awful to crochet or knit with. So, I'm staying away from it like the plague.
