Can different colors of the same brand yarn yield different gauge size?

Hello everyone, I'm making a cardigan made out of different colored patches, however I'm facing issues with the sizes of different colored patches.

I started with green yarn making 17 chains and 16 rows all sc, I did 10 of these and they're all the same size. However when I started the yellow patch 17 chains and 16 rows, all sc ends up being 1 row larger.

I swear I can feel like the yellow yarn is more fluffier than the green but Idk I'm a bit new to crochet so i really have no idea whats going on here..

I'm really trying to make them all the same size so they would line up well when sewing it all together but I feel like im going insane and I don't know what to do.. Do i stick to the stitch and row counts or do I stick to sizing and measurements for each new color? is it possible different colors of the same yarn can affect the gauge?
