Advice for selling crochet hooks

I'll admit, I'm making this post because I'm looking for something and ignorance is making it very difficult. I'm hoping people wanting to sell hooks but otherwise know little find this and it helps them sell their items.

1-5 Should be in your title, unless you are selling multiple hooks as a lot- in that case 2, 3 and 5 can be there instead.

If you don't care enough about what you are selling to include these, you will be losing money! Everything is worth more money in the right market!

1) Include whether the hook is inline or throated: throated narrows, inline does not. People who use one generally will not use the other, and they are less likely to buy if they don't know what you are selling. If the hook you are selling does neither, it's probably not a crochet hook. You can do a reverse image search to find out what you actually have.

2) Include brand: if possible, if not, list as unbranded. There are people who collect specific brands.

3) Include size(s): often on the hook, it will be listed as a letter, number, or number with mm after. Some may have two, if so, list both. If the hook lacks the size marker, only then list as size unknown. For numbered hooks (00 to 16) it's generally a good idea to include the term "thread hook" in the listing- some of the smaller hooks (around 14 and below) are usable with sewing thread.

4) Include whether the hook is new or vintage: If you know. Some brands have changed over time, so people wanting newer or older hooks will be searching with these terms

5) Include material: If you know it. Aluminum, plastic, wood, steel and even bone have been used to make hooks- and some people have very strong preferences.

6) Pictures: Front and side of hook pictures, if possible, please. For smaller hooks, they MUST be clear, not fuzzy, when zoomed in. The higher the number and/or smaller the mm, the smaller the hook- and they get tiny! Clear pictures are vital!

7) Length: You don't actually need to include this one unless it is very old, unusually shaped, or unusually long- the last one with some sort of stop on the end means the hook is for Tunisian crochet, so including that term would be needed in the listing.

These should enable you to target the people who are actually looking for what you are selling.
