Need help! I’m making a baby blanket for my new niece and I think I’ve made it too big. It measures 50 in wide (127 cm) and looks about the size of a throw blanket.

I was talking with my mom earlier an mentioned the width and she immediately said that’s too big but I think it’s okay because then she can use it for longer. She also gave an idea to turn it vertical and just keep going for the width of the blanket. I was originally thinking of making the blanket 50 in x 60 in but now I’m not sure. Here is my progress .
