Magic Circle Help - How to Fix

I have been trying for a while to get the magic circle right so I am able to make amigurumi and plushies. I think this attempt looks close but still not quite right. I feel acquainted with the method by now since I have watched many methods on how to do it but it always looks "off." Here, to me the back looks tangled and the circle also does not close all the way and I am. not sure why. I don't know if that is just because I didn't intend on slip stitching the ends since I am trying to follow a pattern that increases in a spiral but I don't believe that is the reason.
