Is there a way to widen an already finished piece (cardigan panel)?

Hi! So I’m definitely considered a beginner crocheter. I’m currently working on my first cardigan. I finished the two front panels and modeled the length because it seemed to short (and it totally is for my preference). I’d like to add about 12” of length onto the cardigan panel.
I can’t find any information online for adding to a finished piece, only when you’re on the first row or pulling it out and staring from chain again. I really don’t want to start over since I’ve already finished 2 panels (and have already restarted both several times over).
Is there any way that I can attach back on the project to lengthen my rows without it looking wonky? It’s a hdc stitch that I’d be adding.
