I'm a begginner. Can you critique my work?

I'm following a pattern for a Howl's Moving Castle Jacket. I thought at first that what I've been doing is Okay. But I'm having doubts and I'm not sure if I should restart from the third diamond/graph. I'm going to have to unravel three graphs/diamonds or 30 rows I think, and I don't want to do it unless I absolutely have to.

And if I DO have to unravel it, I want to know what I can do to avoid the same mistake and what the mistake was in the first place.

Also, one other thing I noticed while crocheting-- I can never know if I did the wrong thing until I finish the graph. What is a good way to check if what I did was right or wrong?
