Anyone try bobbles with Bernat baby blanket or similar?

Hi guys, I'm trying to come up with ideas for a baby blanket I'm planning to make really soon! I'm set on using the thick baby blanket yarn, such as the Bernat baby blanket yarn. I'm thinking of having a mint and white colour combo and was wondering whether anyone's tried to do bobbles with this kind of yarn? I feel like it wouldn't work well because the yarn is too thick but it would look cute if it did! Thanks
