is it possible that my granny squares doesn't flatten out because i use 2 diff yarns?

ok so i finally learned how to crochet a granny square,, i thought it was all good but it's still a bit curved. it does flatten out when i put it on the table but i have to press it out. i think it doesnt flatten out because i used 2 diff yarns? one is a bit thicker than the other. that's the only thing that i think is causing the curving. i was short on yarns so i figured i could use 2 diff brands but that happened. what do you guys think?
