I’m looking into making a sweater using cotton. Does anyone have any experience using Yarn Bee feeling chunky yarn? The pattern calls for a wool blend of the same weight but I wanted something a bit easier to wash and more allergen friendly. Or feel free to suggest any good bulky weight yarn. Thanks!

Hi folks I'm a 60yo M in the UK (Newcastle-upon-Tyne). I've set myself the task at this belated age of learning how to crochet as part of my multimedia art practice. I'm looking for a good how to crochet book for a newbie. I know there are good videos about it on YouTube but I prefer using a book.. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you. Cal

I've been interested in working with wire fore a while, but my few attempts have all ended poorly. I want to make larger items but I'm either using the wrong wire or wrong hooks. Any advice would be appreciated.
I'd love to make small dice bags or larger chainmail shirts. What wire materials/gauges/hook sizes/hook composition do those of you working with wire use? Do you enjoy it as much as working with yarn? I'd love to branch out but I'm unsure where to start.
Ok I don't know about you guys but I love reading especially murder mysteries so I was looking at some bookmarks to crochet because I always lose them and I came across these books they are crochet murder mysteries and the look great they are written by a woman named Betty Hechtman I think they look so cool im definitely going to read one once I finish my book ( it's called one of us is lying it's about a murder mystery in school kinda like a pretty little liars and breakfast club mix ) and my book for school (The Outsiders ) I'm super excited !!
Just like the title says- I’m looking for a crochet hook set that is quality and is most comfortable for knife grip. I’ve read reviews on Clover and Boye and a few others, but I’m wary. I have a mishmash of metal hooks I’ve picked up here and there, but I’d really love to have something nice.

So I’ve been super crocheting recently and my 6 year old has decided she’s ready to learn. I am NOT the most patient teacher and we both just get frustrated (she’s also a perfectionist like me so it bugs her she can’t just pick it up). I’ve tried with worsted weight yarn and the suggested hook as well as gone up a size or 2 for her and we’ve tried blanket yarn with the suggested hook, and we’re struggling to get it. What things can I do try to teach her? Any videos that show the VERY basics like different ways to hold yarn and the hook? Any tutorials with kids teaching? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I spent all of 2020 challenging myself to be "project monogamous" because normally I have really terrible start-itis and never finish anything.
I want to be absolutely clear that we all craft differently, and I am in no way trying to disparage anyone's personal method. I am just curious about different perspectives.
If I let myself start as many as I wanted, I would start so many things that I would never finish anything. Since challenging myself to be "project monogamous" I find myself completing more, and having more time to think about and plan future projects in such a way that I am more likely to finish that later one too, rather than rushing into a project from the moment it pops into my head, and end up regretting a choice I made in my haste to get started.
So I was curious how many projects all of you have going at any one time and how does it affect your ability to finish things?
