Consistent look going from in the round to rows?

Consistent look going from in the round to rows?

I have had a few projects where I need to go from a section which is in the round to doing rows, whether to make the top to a doll dress or jacket, or other times where I've had similar issues. But my issue is that once you go to rows you're switching from right side to wrong side and get the bumpy look of rowed crochet.

Does anyone have a suggestion of a stitch to use for both sections (in the round and the rows) that will look more the same on both wrong side and right side? I guess I could do the in the round part also doing slip stitch-turn so the whole thing is right side-wrong side too, so it would look consistent. But I'd love to have suggestions of alternate stitches to use.

Thanks!
