Recommendations for super heavy yarn?

I’m thinking of making my friend a weighted blanket, and I’m leaning more towards crochet because I think it would be easier to wash than a blanket filled with poly beads. I’m looking for heavy yarn (really thick, if possible; I’m hoping to get it done relatively quickly) that’s reasonably priced. I’m hoping to spend less than $50 if possible. I know it’s a lot of specifications, but does anyone have any recommendations?
Edit: if you’ve made a weighted blanket and can tell me approximately how much it weighs and how many skeins you needed that would be awesome too!
