My piece doesn't look like the pattern- am I doing something wrong?
IFTTT newest submissions : crochetHi all, long time first time. I've recently got into crochet and am making this cardigan: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kenzie-kimono
I'm about 5 rows in and I can't decide if I'm doing something wrong (hook wrong size, too much tension, yarn wrong weight)? The length of the piece as a whole seems correct but it's height I'm worried about. The stitches in the pattern seem 'higher' than mine (the holes where there was a chain 1 skip especially). Am I just keeping too much tension when I crochet? Should I start over?
The pattern states a 5mm hook (which I'm using), 10 ply yarn (which I'm using), and the gauge is 4dc = 1inch which matches what I've done so far. So here's what mine looks like: https://imgur.com/iXvLQfx
And here's what the one in the pattern looks like. Note that the pattern looks different on this one (more rows) because it includes stitches for the XL size. https://imgur.com/E74APrS
What do you think? Should I start over? Or am I just worried over nothing and should power through?
