Can steam blocking save this wonky scarf?

So I'm making this scarf for my niece, without a pattern. I'm using 100% Acrylic Loops and Threads Charisma yarn, Bulky weight (5) with an 8mm hook.
I really thought my tension was fairly consistent, but the width difference between the camel and star stitches, and the lemon peel sections, are really quite significant.
Is this salvageable with steam blocking? I haven't actually encountered a need to block any of my projects so far, so I don't have any experience with it. I'm not sure if this is too severe to be fixed with blocking, and if I just need to just rip it out and go back to the drawing board and come up with something different.
