Beginner questions about scarf/stitch
IFTTT newest submissions : crochet
Hi everyone!
I've recent started crocheting and I really seem to struggle with tension when creating my first few rows - chain row and first actual stitch rows). I've decided I'd like to try out a foundation chain and I'd also like to make a scarf for a friend using the peel stitch.
Question - can I use a foundation chain for the first row, then move into peel on row 2 (everything I see on peel has a chain as base)? If so, would a half-double or a double crochet foundation work better? And, if I start with a foundation chain, I would probably need to finish the work with the same stitch on the final row?
To make sure I'm clear, with the peel we need an odd number of stitches on the foundation row?
