Help! How do you decide on your next project?

Pretty much what the title says :") I'm in a crocheting slump!
I've been working on amigurumi lately, and finished quite a few catnip mice for customers and the like, plus mandalas and wall hangings for another customer. But now I'm a little stuck - what should I make next, for myself?
I'd love to make a scarf, but I love in a tropical country so it's quite a bit redundant here (and we don't have those charity drives that encourage people to send in handmade items either).
Friends, how do you decide what project to attempt after you've finished your latest one?
