I’m slightly in love with my yarn bag for my backpack.

So I'm new to crocheting. I'm no where near close to being comfortable to actually selling anything but I'm curious as to how to go about it. Like how does it work if I make something from someone else's pattern for myself but a friend or family member loves it and wants to pay me to make them one. Or even something as simple as a flower made of treble and single crochet stitches from a tutorial I watched on YouTube and wanted to turn in into Like earrings or magnets. It would make sense to only be able to sell my own pattern but like what if I buy a pattern to make. Technically I couldn't sell multiple of finished products from that pattern cause it's not my pattern correct? Honestly just curious how it works because I see alot of crocheted bees, for example, and alot of them look exactly the same so I was just wondering how it worked. Thanks if you take the time to answer!

I'm working on a Halloween granny square project for my cousin's baby shower using the Halloween granny square pattern from raffamusa designs. In the pattern, she uses a mix of embroidery and crochet appliques for the details on the squares. I was worried about the durability of the appliques when it comes to using them for a blanket. I was thinking felt pieces may be more durable and easier to make but I've never seen it done before on anything other than amigurumi. Any suggestions? (Thanks in advance!)

Where do you buy, what type of yarn do you look for (if amigurumi, clothes, etc.) anything you avoid?

I love making puff flowers and think the blanket is so cute but is it actually comfortable or just pretty? Can anyone who has made it tell me if it’s useable? Thanks
Hi all,
I learnt to crochet as a young child from my grandmother and only ever used plain steel hooks. I've recently decided to get back into it to make things for my kids after a 10 year break and found that they seem to not be the preferred option for most crocheters. Just wanted to know before purchasing if anyone with previous experience with the steel ones recommends upgrading to ones with a grip?
Also, suggestions of tried and tested ones would be much appreciated! I'm in Australia if that helps.

Hey crochet reddit :)
I'm invited to a Boho weeding in October this year. I'm looking for a nice dress pattern :) Maybe you have an idea.
Best wishes!

Hi, I am new in this subreddit and would like to ask something about crochet.
I have this idea to have random 2D crochet pieces on my beret. Sort of like customizing my wool beret with random crocheted objects like fruits, animals, letters and etc.
What would be the best way to attach them on a wool beret? I was thinking of sewing them in, but if there are other suggestions to make it seamless, please let me know.
In another thread on here, I asked about some soft bulky yarn. I made notes of the brands that were recommended to me, for future reference.
Anyway, now that I have all this big beautiful yarn, I would like to start the project. This is going to be a pillowcase to cover a pillow for my daughter’s bed. Her normal pillow that she puts her head on.
The Question: any ideas what stitch/stitches I should use? I’m doing it in 2 colors, and haven’t even decided if I should do one side one color and the other side the other color, or a pattern that incorporates 2 different colors.
The yarn is very soft, but I don’t want to make a pattern that is too lumpy, like a bobble or popcorn stitch. I also don’t want to sit and do DC all day lol
HELP! Please?

I mean of course they do, but is the market big for them? Like.. would I be able to easily sell a smaller stuffed toy? What has been your experience in selling? To friends and family or otherwise(etsy, Ebay, things alike) I'm looking into selling my works lately and wanted to know if it's worth it.

hey guys! i know you’re getting tired of me posting but i wanted to share this idea i had for a server, but then again if there already is one then i’d love to be invited!
anyways, do you ever find yourself struggling to complete one project? or you start a project, pause, start another project, and then pause that project to start another one? i thought it would be cool to make a server for crotcheters and knitters who have ADHD, like myself, i think it would be a good way to exchange tips but to also help keep each other in tact when it comes to finishing things! i find it hard to find motivation for big projects (been working on this sweater for some months now and i am nearly done but i keep procrastinating). but i think with a group of like-minded people we can find motivation amongst each other! please comment your thoughts!!

Anyone have tips on where to start? It’s going to be a gift :)
My boyfriend loves sunflowers and I want to make him something for when he gets back from his trip. Any sunflower-related pattern ideas? I've made the sunburst bag before but I wanna try my hand at something new!

Hi all! I'm not sure where to find this answer... I love to crochet, but I love knit sweater patterns. I'm TERRIBLE at knitting, and have a hard time enjoying knitting (mostly because I'm terrible).
Is there a way to convert knitting patterns to crochet? I REALLY want to make a couple sweaters. Or am I stuck learning and getting better at knitting?
Any and all tips appreciated. Thanks! Have a great day! (I'm hoping to knit this and everything else by her! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-sinister-catdigan )

I'm tagging this as funny because OBVIOUSLY each to their own, but I wanted to post a hot take: Crochet shorts! And Pants?? In red heart acrylic? I'm sweating just thinking about it... I keep seeing some really, cute crochet projects for shorts and even crop tops, but when I see that it's thick DC stitch or even just granny stitch... whats the point if you make it for summer? I can't be the only one... At least use a linen/ cotton yarn!
Essentially I'm doing 60dc 100 wrapped doubles 60dc... the dcs are tighter and the middle seems stretched out.
I'm looking for a stitch that will work up evenly for the section of 100 in the middle... I'd like to do granny stripes but I'm not sure how to work the edges.
I hope this makes sense! Please ask if I need to explain it differently or provide a picture. It's been a long few days and staring at my mess of stitches hasn't helped
