Losing Yarn Chicken and a Possible Idea

Have you ever lost yarn chicken and know that if you change your tension to make it work the project will look weird?
It happened to me today. It's crazy to buy a whole extra ball to have it sit in my stash languishing. I have some leftovers of yarn I could share if there are specifics people are looking for.
Is there some kind of yarn exchange for lil too much yarn to be gifted to not enough yarn ppl?
I would love to help others and send out requests if there is such a place. Kinda an earth friendly and economical way to help a fellow hooker out.
