Donating yarn?

Okay fellow hookers! I was gifted a ton of skeins from a friend who’s late mother had left behind after passing. I would love to be able to use them but I’m really struggling with my depression and am not able to finish even small projects at the moment. The amount of yarn I have is smothering me!!! How can I get these skeins to someone who will appreciate them? Would you suggest I donate them? Do people even donate yarn? Thank you all for this and your daily inspiration :)
