I’m planning on crocheting an inclusive pride blanket for my friends, approx twin size (60 x 90 in), ideally sticking to the design of the flag with the triangles/chevrons and the horizontal stripes. I haven’t found any patterns or tutorials anywhere online, so I’m planning on freeing it but would like to crowdsource some feedback.
I see 2 main approaches to how to make this design:
Triangle approach I would start with the trans/BIPOC pride triangles using a modified moss/linen stitch like this pattern. Once the triangles are done I would finish off and start horizontally crocheting the rainbow stripes while connecting them into the edge of the triangles with my turning chain, probably double crocheting and then hdc, sc, as I approach the triangle to get that horizontal edge. If I want to be on hard mode I could try continuing the triangle linen stitch all the way down the blanket and switch colors often to make the stripes.
Stripe/reversible intarsia approach. I’d start horizontally with the stripes, but use a foundation dc so I can seamlessly change colors in the foundation row. AKA start a purple FDC row, switch to black FDC, then brown FDC, then end with pale blue FDC. Because color changes would only occur 1 to 2 stitches staggered in each row I could use the reversible intarsia technique.
I think the triangle approach would create the best looking triangles without any stepping, but there would be a big difference in texture in the blanket between the triangles and the stripes. On the other hand, the stripe approach would lead to a very consistent texture but the triangles would not be smooth, they’d be stepped from row to row.
Any advice on which would be best? Or is there a different way to create this kind of design?

Hi! I'm new to crochet (about a month in) and I've pretty much only made amigurumis so far...so majority SC work. I recently did a lovey piece that used the treble crochet stitch and I really like the stitch and how it looks!! So I was wanting to find a good blanket pattern using these stitches. Google yielded a few results but I also thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here and see if anyone knows of or has done a cool pattern with this stitch. Thanks in advance!
Also to add, doesn't HAVE to be a blanket, could be anything using this stitch, I just seemed to find mostly blankets when trying to find TC patterns.

WHY do spinning wheels have to be so prohibitively expensive?! I’m frustrated and need to vent so....
Mini rant:
I was supposed to inherit my great-great-grandmother’s wheel. It was gorgeous and over 250 years old and still in working condition. I’m the ONLY person in my family who knew how to use it, literally no one else wanted it, I asked for NOTHING ELSE, and I had been promised this thing since I was 5.
My grandparents both passed last year and their house is being emptied. My jerk uncle is the executor of the will and decided he wanted to sell it. He found out he couldn’t get rich off it, so he threw it in the dump. I’m gutted. Not only is all of that history gone, but my chance at actually having a wheel is gone. Let’s face it, I have a needy kid and a frugal husband and no way to ever justify spending that much on a hobby.
Ok rant over.
SIGH! Maybe I’ll get lucky and win the lottery one day!

Is it just me or is big twist yarn not that great? I bought a lot of it on sale at JoAnn because of the pretty colors; however, it seems like it gets fuzzier than Red Heart.

I have been obsessed with crochet tops for the longest time and am dying to make one for myself. The one problem is all of the patterns I can find are for people with smaller to average chests. I was wondering if anyone out here knew of any good top patterns for me and the other people with this issue. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had a link to a regular, bed-sized pillow covering pattern? Roughly 19” x 24”. I’d like to make shams, but all of the patterns I can find are for square throw pillows. I’ve only crocheted amigurumi before, and have never adjusted a pattern, so I figured I’d ask before I ventured into the wild hooked yonder. Thanks!

Hello all!
I’m making this sweater:
https://rohnstrong.com/2019/04/29/cedar-island-sweater-free-crochet-pattern/
And I’m stuck. When you get to the the sleeves, it says ‘do not turn’. How do I not turn? I looked up crocheting backward but it looked like it was only for single crochet. I’ve done a ton of googling.
I feel like I’m missing something. Is it because I’m chaining the sleeve part and the pattern wants me to just do DC through the sleeve chain?
I am so stuck! I have a whole evening to work on this and no idea how to start! Help!

Hello! I’m looking to purchase a set of interchangeable crochet hooks and handle. I’d love to support an artist rather than buy something mass produced. I’ve looked a little on Etsy, but if you are or know of an artist, please comment below :)

i recently received a skein of the caron cake yarn (standard) and i struggle a bit with the color-blocked style so i’m interested to hear of anyone has patterns that they like to use with it!

Does anyone have any advice for what they use to clip yarn on a flight? I have tiny folding scissors that when extended are maybe three inches and when folded have no sharp edges. Has anyone used those? What do you all use or suggest?
Hi everyone! I’m fairly new to crochet, but am wondering where you Canadian crocheters find the best deals for ordering yarn online? I live in Waterloo, Ontario and we have a Michael’s which is where I have been getting it from, but just wondering if there’s anywhere better online or off!
