Do you follow the care instructions on the label?

Do you follow the care instructions on the label?

I’m making some projects with acrylic.

My labels say hand wash and air dry but the general consensus of the internet is that I can delicate/gentle/hand wash cycle in the washing machine and tumble dry on low.

It’s 100% acrylic. I also have another yarn from the same company that is 100% acrylic but the care instructions are delicate wash and tumble dry.

It’s a blanket so to truly handwash with hands would be not a good time but most washing machines have hand wash cycles nowadays thankfully. Let’s just hope my friend at least has that cycle on hers!

Anyways, what do you do to care for acrylic?

Question about borders

Question about borders

Hey, everyone! I want to make a blanket for my grandpa and this is the only pattern I found that I think I can actually make. The problem is that it is a baby sized pattern. I reached out to the creator before purchasing and she said it's only a baby blanket pattern.

My questions are:

  1. I know that using thicker yarn and a larger hook would make the blanket bigger, but how much so? Current pattern calls for a size 4 hook and medium (4) yarn.
  2. Could I make the baby blanket and just give it a border that goes until it's the size I want? I know I could but has anyone tried? Did it look OK?

Thanks for any help!

Is this pattern wrong?

Is this pattern wrong?

Maybe this is a long shot, but perhaps someone on this sub has made this Tie Fighter before?

I'm trying to start it but it isn't making sense. The pattern starts with the cockpit, but seems to say only one row of white is needed. Looking at the picture I'd have thought it should take at least 3 rows. Any help would be appreciated.

Long hair gray cat pattern

Long hair gray cat pattern

Hello friends! My friends cat recently passed away and was maybe hoping to make a plushie or something that looks like her cat. The cat is a long haired gray cat and I’m unsure where to go and such! Any help helps, I would consider myself a beginner crocheter (I’ve made amigurumi before), I just lack patience and a attention span to usually expand my skills or finish a project haha. Thanks in advance! 😊

Help! Pattern doesn't mention how to join pieces!

Help! Pattern doesn't mention how to join pieces!

I am following this cute pattern on sewrella for a flower pot, but I can't figure out how to join the top piece with the pot! I could just sew them, but I just don't think that would look very good. Especially because the top piece is in a different color and is supposed to fit inside the pot, I am worried experimenting won't lead to good results. Any tips would be super helpful!!! Thanks!

New to crochet!

New to crochet!

Hi all, I was just wondering what supplies you would recommend for someone who wants to get into crochet? I’ve been researching but all this information is a bit overwhelming, I’ve seen kits online but they seem like overkill with like a billion different hooks and such. Any advice appreciated :)
