Struggling to hold yarn properly after bad cuts on fingers

I had an accident at work last week that made it so my left index and middle fingers are pretty much out of commission for at least a few weeks (my index may be a few months). I hold the hook in my right hand, but I’m struggling to hold yarn in my left hand. Even when I make it work (very awkwardly) the tension is really loose, whereas I normally go for tighter stitches so I can’t match any of my kajillion WIPs. Any advice for new ways to hold everything would be much appreciated. I’d hate to not be able to crochet for that long
