I have no idea how to start or finish a project
IFTTT newest submissions : crochetThis is a long winded post, but I've been really bummed out over this entire crochet-block & I'm hoping to get some perspective. I'm the sort of crocheter who has never really progressed much from the basics but have such lofty ideas & dreams. I've never completed a project, mostly because I use the crocheting motion to soothe myself when I'm really anxious. Also, no one in my family crochets, & I'm always too shy & scared to ask for help here (but I'm pretty desperate now).
I recently aspired to create a blanket that would reflect the current lockdown status in my country (we've been in on/off lockdown for a year plus so I wanted a specific colour to reflect which phase we're in) & I've been creating solid granny squares for it then unravelling it multiple times cause it just 'doesn't feel right'. Not sure if this is relevant either, but I do have some trouble with visual perception so it's very difficult for me to understand instructions (I normally take a couple of minutes to understand a simple set).
But then I see my other friend who just started crocheting creating multiple items or I see posts here that get the fire going but when I look at the yarn that motivation just goes away. I'm pretty upset with my progress (or lack thereof) because I really am interested in making something but I require a lot of guidance & patience to figure it out.
Anyways... I was hoping that maybe someone here can advise me on how you stay compelled to complete a project no matter how long it takes (I know there's a lot of WIPs) or how do you get rid of that 'ugh' feeling.
