Good Sweater Stitch Needed (Not See Through)

Hey guys!
So I’m trying to crochet my first sweater, and I need a good solid stitch so I won’t have to wear a camisole under it. I have a pattern (the sweater is made from various blocks sewed together) but the pattern just calls for American double crochet and I’m worried that it will be too see through.
I’m using size 4 yarn (worsted) if that makes a difference.
Will the dc work, or should I use hdc or something more complex like a lemon peel stitch?
