A noob's shameless pandering to the community

I recently had an idea for a gift for my wife, and it would still give me 4 months to get it done and be a timely christmas gift. She crochets quite a bit and she has probably tried to teach me a few times before. I just never had some thing motivating me to really learn, a specific project idea.

I bought a nice looking pattern from someone on Pinterest. She has great reviews and has already nicely clarified questions i had with with it.

After asking my wife only for a couple stitch instructions, I stumbled through a row or two. Im trying for 2 HDC rows a day. Im only around a week in so far.

With this limited experience, I've come to realize just how skillfull one needs to be to create the projects i see posted here. Yarn tension, hook position, consistency, reading the gibberish on the pattern lol, that the loosness of this row drastically effects the next. I really had no idea it was all so intricate. It feels very similar to learning an instrument.

So Great work everyone! I've enjoyed browsing through your great looking songs. And to the fellow beginners, Keep it up! The best way to learn is through practice.
