This scarf is my first finished project and I’m so happy it turned out pretty good!

Hi all! I’m new to crocheting, and decided to attempt this Farmhouse Granny Square in hopes to eventually use them to make a blanket.
After playing around with the pattern for a while, I found that I’m really struggling with the puff stitch.
I understand how to do it, but whenever I do my little square looks nothing like the picture. I think I might be making it too small, but I’m not sure how to fix that.
I was hoping maybe someone has a good video they can direct me to or someone with more experience can give me some pointers ??
Thanks!(:
The cakes recommend for this only come out to making a throw blanket size, and she wants one closer to a queen. Aside from the fact that it will obviously take me about 8,000 years to complete, how do i get the same effect if the cakes are too small? I have had no luck finding triple sized cakes with the same gradual color change.

Hi!
I’m a very very novice knitter and an absolute noob to crocheting- I can hook loops and do single and double crochet. I’m getting the hang of patterns, my eight year old niece is waaay ahead of me lol.
I’m trying to do zoom art projects or book clubs with my nieces in These Trying Times, and this one wants to make those cute little Star Wars animurugi- eventually. Idk if it’s ok to link pattens here but I found a bernat stuffed cat I think is basically a big ball with ears and paws that I feel like I can manage to start. It wants bernat baby velvet or baby crushed velvet yarn, which it says is a 4/worsted, and a D hook.
Finally! The question!
We can use any similar weight yarn, probably, right? If we actually change to baby weight yarn (that’s fingering, right?), how many hook sizes down do we go to get a tiny sized kitten?
I am sooo not a fly by the seat of your pants kinda girl, and I haven’t even knitted for years. I found a video tutorial of this, I can probably pull it off, but I know my girl and she’ll want to make about a hundred. I figure if we can make a big one and get the hang of it then we can inch down to a super basic thing before we start tiny light sabers and such. Right? Right??
Thanks!

Hello. I am an intermediate crocheter who has been trying to dive into afghans/blankets/etc and a lot of them have triple crochets, which, you'd think I'd have more experience with but I honestly don't. They are also very... floppy? A row of double crochets looks uniform and solid yet the triples look really loose and bowed out... if that makes sense?
Plus, if I have front and back post triples, there are HUGE holes between the stitches. I've noticed when I'm doing the final ( 3rd ) part of the triple, the stitch prior to it stretches out so I'ma ttempting to work them tighter... it just feels weird.
Is this normal? Could be a tension problem? Any references, videos, or advice on how to improve at these?
Here is a photo: https://imgur.com/a/HqEhY3A
First row: ( the light brown ) is a 4 stitch cable using front post triple crochets with one back post double in between. The next row ( dark brown ) is 4 front post triples with one back post triple where the double was in the previous row. Hopefully that makes sense x_x

I posted this group I created before and decided to post again! It’s a group for crocheters to connect with others and make friends and share and talk about their projects and also the mundane things

My mother is an avid crocheter, her birthday is coming up and she has EVERYTHING, except really nice crochet hooks. Having done some Amazon searching, I'm completely overwhelmed. What are everyone's favorites? She does have a touch of arthritis so I was pondering ergonomic hooks.
Thank you!

Alright all you crafty folks I need your help. My best friend is preggo(woot!!) and I’m going to crochet babe a blanket. I have done a few projects before but always relied on micheals or Joann for yarn. This friend is all about supporting small business so I thought it’d be fun to incorporate that into the gift.
Cue pandemic and the inability to google places close enough to drive to and mosey around looking for just the right skeins. I have a pattern picked out and will be using bulky yarn. A cream color as well as a variegated color that would work with these .
Hit me with online shops you love, even specific yarn suggestions. I’ve been crocheting on and off for a few years but am still very much a newby and would love your help!

Anyone have ideas for zero waste crochet? A friend’s birthday is coming up and I need to make her something eco friendly. I’ve googled and the only thing I can find are reusable bags

I’m jumping on the Trio Blanket bandwagon. Looking for feedback on my colors. These are all Lion Brand Cupcakes.

i love crocheting bralettes for myself (i use this kind of cup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckYJq6VdMT4 ) but i rarely get to wear them because my boobs keep falling out of the cups with even the smallest amount of motion. does anyone have any advice on how to structure bralettes so this doesn't happen???
hi! every crochet tutorial and pattern only are to make high rise shorts, and when i've tried to modify them to be low rise they always just come out a size too big, so i don't really understand the crochet science behind how that works.
if anyone has any insight into how to get that to work let me know!

Hello. First time poster here. Beginning crocheter. Are there metal P/Q or 15 mm hooks out there? Maybe it’s the yarn I’m using but the Clover one just isn’t working for me. Although I LOVE my Clover set I bought because of this sub.
Thanks!

Does anyone here have experience crocheting blankets for pets/using crocheted blankets for them? I thought it'd make a nice Christmas gift, but I'm worried about cats or dogs getting their claws stuck in it, since crochet tends to be so holey. If any of y'all are used to this, could anyone share patterns that work for you? Thanks!!!
