Does anyone have any easier sweater patterns??

Does anyone have any easier sweater patterns??

It’ll be my first sweater, and I’m aiming to make it yellow and black and iron on a little Hufflepuff patch that I have. I’d prefer it not be cropped and I’m not looking for a cardigan but I’m willing to look at anything you guys have! Thank you!!

Best budget portable steamer for acrylic blocking?

Best budget portable steamer for acrylic blocking?

Hi everybody, not sure if this has been asked before but.. best cheap fabric steamer for acrylic blocking? Still a novice, so I just learned blocking was a thing that made your finished work looked even more finished. I made sure to ask around with friends and family if they had a steam iron, but I figured a steamer would be a multi-tasker for the home in general, so it'd just be better to purchase one. I'm working with a budget under $30. Thanks in advance.

A less yarn intensive way to get the same tightness as a double magic ring!

A less yarn intensive way to get the same tightness as a double magic ring!

I have absolutely no doubt that someone else has come up with this before but I just arrived at it independently so I’d like to share it

I used to use single magic rings whenever starting a piece in the round, but they have the disadvantage that the piece can’t fully be pulled tight. I found out about double magic rings recently but they’re tedious because they leave an even longer tail than single magic rings. But then I started on a pattern that says to use the ch1 method, I thought I’d try it just for the novelty, and I had a brainwave.

Here’s a picture tutorial for the pseudo-double-ring method I’ve started using

Only disadvantage is that the turning chain stitch and the slip knot exist but neither have been very noticeable and I actually kind of like it better than the magic circle because with this method the tail ends up solidly on the wrong side with no effort required
