Project ideas for traveling?

Hi all, I’m going to be flying to see my girlfriend this coming weekend and want to bring some crochet along. My current WIP is a sweater with six different colors but I’m hoping to just bring a carryon and backpack as my personal item so I don’t feel I have enough room for that much yarn. What are some projects that are good for travel (specifically via airplane) that don’t take up a ton of space and don’t use many colors? I’m kind of at a loss for ideas. If you have a favorite pattern to take on trips, feel free to share! Thank you in advance ☺️
